Linda Leather (Project Co-ordinator)

 Linda has been working as Project Co ordinator  for the Professional Services group since December 2004 and is the first point of contact for both our Members and the voluntary/Community groups that PSG assists.  Prior to joining PSG Linda was employed as Personal Assistant for Tees Valley Tomorrow Ltd, which meant she had an administrative connection with the PSG as this was originally one of their projects.  In her leisure time Linda enjoys listening to music, walking, swimming and socialising with family and friends, she also provides a free taxi service to her two teenage children! 

Kath Dowson (PSG Manager)

Kath has been working for PSG since 2005 as the part-time Project Manager. Kath's career path has been varied from at the age of 15 working in her community residential home caring for the elderly to starting her own business in 2005.  Kath has over fifteen years experience in the private, public and voluntary sectors with the last 10 of those years spent specialising in enterprise  working for both Tees Valley TEC and Business Link.  She set up and ran her own enterprise and community development business and was pivotal in the development of a partnership for building the capacity of social enterprises within the Tees Valley.  Kath has a passion for community support and is driven by helping those who need support, she is a mum to two young children under five and when not working spends her time in the great outdoors (weather permitting) walking, camping, cycling but loves shopping and entertaining friends.

 

 

Sheila Tindle (Chair)

 Sheila Tindle is a Divisional Director of investment managers Wise Speke, a division of Brewin Dolphin Securities Ltd. Sheila has over 20 years experience in the financial services industry. Sheila specialises in managing investments for individuals, trusts and charities. Outside of work, her interests include general fitness & sport, skiing, travel and reading.

Hugh McGouran (Vice-Chair) 

 Following a chequered career path, which included a spell as a professional musician, car sales and some time with L’Oreal as a sales representative, Hugh decided it was time to grow up and get a real job. Returning to full time education, he graduated from the University of Teesside with a degree in Public Administration in 1997.  What followed was a roller coaster of jobs based loosely around regeneration, which began as Credit Union Worker for Stockton Borough Council leading the role of National Business Development Director to Pertemps People Development Group in 2003.  Hugh took up his current post as Chief Executive to Tees Valley Community Foundation in September 2006, which led to his close involvement with the PSG. 

 

 Brian Beaumont (Board Member) 

Brian Beaumont is a Business Development Specialist, and former Partner, with Horwath Clark Whitehill, an international Firm of Chartered Accountants. After a long career in industry and commerce he has spent the last fifteen years working with businesses large and small, across a diverse range of market sectors. He is well established in the business infrastructure and support network, particularly in the North East, and works with and alongside banks, venture capitalists, and many others. He is Past President of the Chamber of Commerce, sits on the NECC Tees Valley Committee, and was a founding Chairman of the Hartlepool Economic Forum. He has a strong interest in Investors in People, is a Trustee of Tees Valley Community Foundation, and a Director of NEL Fund Managers Limited. He specialises in business and strategic planning, funding packages, grants, and non-executive appointments. Enjoys walking, writing and research work.

Stephen Wiles (Board Member) 

Stephen gained over five years' experience advsing the insolvancy clients of a major Leeds practice before he was recruited to complement the Jackson team in January 1993.  Particularly astute when investigating the affairs of an insolvent company or bankrupt estate on instruction of the liquidator/trustee in bankruptcy, he is also highly regarded for his practical and pragmatic commerical advice to companies and individuals who find themselves in unexpected financial difficulty.  Stephen was appointed Department Head and partner in 2001.  His leisure interests include hill walking, food, cooking and music.

Penny Thomas (Board Member)

Penny started her career a long time ago now in advertising sales, progressed to management and then left to join forces with an old school pal and they built an advertising, business development and marketing company that was recognised in its day as an innovator and one of the top three companies in its field in the North East.  After the birth of her son in 1997 she started a new work adventure, became self employed and tendered and won contracts to work in the regeneration arena.  Trading as Network Solutions, Penny's skills and experience encompass private, public and voluntary sectors and her passion is to help the region and it's organisations to grow and prosper.  When not managing her business, home, assorted animals and family, she spends her spare time washing whites and driving her son around Yorkshire to play cricket!
